World Zionist Congress Elections

Dear Chaveirim,
The RCA will once again be supporting the OIC (Orthodox Israel Coalition) - Mizrachi slate in the World Zionist Congress elections. We have spent many hours with the leadership of Mizrachi learning about how the WZC works, and the important role that Mizrachi-OIC can and will play.
We encourage you to get out the vote through your institutions starting with Purim day when people can be encouraged to vote immediately on their phones.
Everyone that is over 18 is eligible to vote - and must!
You may vote here:

Reasons to vote for the Orthodox Israel Coalition Mizrachi: (The OIC)

A voice for your values in policy decisions: The WZC and National Institutions allocate millions of dollars annually to support Jewish educational and experiential programs in Israel and the US. A strong OIC-Mizrachi presence in the WZC will influence the content and spirit of those programs consistent with Torah values.

Funding for yeshiva/seminary in Israel The OIC-Mizrachi successfully enabled North American yeshiva and seminary students to receive millions of dollars in tuition support from MASA. The OIC-Mizrachi also ensures that the schools get the support and funding they need to inspire and uplift our youth through impactful Torah studies.

Support for lone soldiers and lone bnot sherut: With your vote, The OIC-Mizrachi will create a vibrant center for religious lone soldiers and lone bnot sherut to support them both spiritually and physically.

Sending religious shlichim to the US: The OIC-Mizrachi ensures that religious shlichim are sent to schools around the US to inspire and uplift students as role models who inspire a love of Torah and Israel.

Support for religious students on secular college campuses: The OIC-Mizrachi provides funding to support Orthodox students on secular college campuses across Israel and the US.

Increased investment in religious youth movements: The OIC-Mizrachi will use its influence in the WZC to increase investment in the religious, Zionist youth movements serving Israel and the diaspora. Ex: Bnei Akiva programming

Support for olim: The OIC-Mizrachi provides funding to key organizations that support olim. Ex: JLIC communities in Israel.

ABOUT US

In 1984, there were a few Sephardic Synagogues in New York City and Long Island. However, when Sephardic Jews would search for Sephardic Synagogues north of Manhattan, there were none to be found.

It made good sense to offer the Jews in Westchester a place to keep their Sephardic traditions. A place with a connection to the orient in a Bet Knesset that caters to their melodies, their customs, and their tastes.

Fast Forward to the present, Magen David is a special place to pray, celebrate holidays, learn, and enjoy a melting pot of traditions. Whether you are Sephardic or just want to participate, our small Bet Knesset in this community is one you will enjoy once you visit!
